The Orient Star Contemporary Three Hand RE-BQ0003S00B is the most understated expression of the Sakigake Design Project. Its silver sunburst dial, sculpted stainless-steel case and integrated bracelet create a versatile Japanese automatic watch that moves effortlessly between business, formal and everyday settings.
 
Sakigake represents a new design direction for Orient Star, built around the concept of “supple strength”. Flowing curves give the watch an elegant profile, while crisp facets and contrasting polished and brushed surfaces add definition. The result is sophisticated without appearing delicate and contemporary without relying on short-lived design trends.
 
The silver dial has a subtle radial finish that interacts beautifully with changing light. Applied faceted hour markers and polished hands add depth and refinement, while the simple three-hand arrangement keeps the display exceptionally clean. With no date aperture or power-reserve indicator to interrupt its symmetry, the dial has the restrained appearance of a modern Japanese dress watch.
 
The 38.7 mm SUS316L stainless-steel case is proportioned for comfort, with a thickness of 11.8 mm and a lug-to-lug measurement of 47.0 mm. Its integrated bracelet combines rounded centre links with H-shaped links, creating an attractive transition from case to bracelet while allowing it to articulate naturally around the wrist.
 
At its heart is Orient Star’s F7542 in-house automatic movement. The calibre can be wound by hand, provides more than 50 hours of power reserve and is regulated to an accuracy of +15 to -5 seconds per day. A sapphire crystal exhibition case back provides a clear view of the decorated movement.
Finished with a dual-curved sapphire crystal, anti-reflective coating and 100 metres of water resistance, the RE-BQ0003S00B combines refined finishing with genuine everyday usability.
