The Orient Star Contemporary Three Hand RE-BQ0004Y00B is a special 75th Anniversary limited edition and one of the most distinctive watches in the inaugural Sakigake Design Project collection. Produced in only 900 pieces worldwide, it combines a warm copper sunburst dial with the brand’s new integrated case and bracelet design.
 
Sakigake was created around the concept of “supple strength”. The design balances flowing curves with precisely defined facets, giving the watch an elegant profile while retaining the visual strength expected from a modern stainless-steel sports watch. Polished and brushed surfaces emphasise the changing shape of the case before flowing naturally into the integrated bracelet.
 
The copper dial is the defining feature of this limited edition. Its radial sunburst finish shifts between soft salmon, rose-gold and deeper copper tones as the light changes. Dark-toned applied hour markers and hands create a confident contrast, while the clean three-hand layout gives the colour and finishing space to take centre stage.
 
Unlike many traditional Orient Star watches, the Sakigake three-hand design omits the power-reserve indicator. Together with the absence of a date window, this produces an exceptionally balanced and minimalist display. The rounded bracelet centre links and H-shaped outer links add depth while providing smooth articulation and everyday comfort.
 
Inside is the Orient Star F7542 in-house automatic movement, offering hand-winding, more than 50 hours of power reserve and accuracy rated at +15 to -5 seconds per day. The decorated 22-jewel calibre is visible through the sapphire crystal exhibition case back.
 
The 38.7 mm SUS316L stainless-steel case is protected by a dual-curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. Its 11.8 mm thickness and 47.0 mm lug-to-lug measurement provide elegant, wearable proportions, while 100 metres of water resistance ensures that this anniversary edition is designed to be enjoyed rather than simply displayed.
 
Limited to 900 examples worldwide, the RE-BQ0004Y00B is an important Orient Star release that combines anniversary significance, contemporary Japanese design and the mechanical quality for which the brand is known.
