The Orient Star M45 F8 Mechanical Moon Phase Hand Winding RE-BW0008B00B is an exceptionally rare 75th Anniversary limited edition, with only 140 pieces available worldwide. Created at the Shinshu Watch Studio in Shiojiri, Japan, it combines traditional Japanese dial artistry with one of Orient Star's most advanced hand-wound mechanical movements.
 
The black dial is inspired by “the moon drifting through clouds”. Orient Star uses patented nanoparticle metal multilayering technology to create clouds, stars and subtle changes in depth across the dial. As the light moves, the finish evokes slender clouds passing through a clear autumn night sky.
 
Its newly developed three-layer moon-phase display combines a star-scattered metal plate, a mother-of-pearl moon motif and the moon-phase drive wheel. The natural iridescence of mother-of-pearl gives the moon a gentle glow, making every viewing angle slightly different.
 
Inside is the in-house F8A62 hand-winding calibre. This slim 20-jewel movement provides more than 70 hours of power reserve and accuracy rated at +15 to -5 seconds per day. It incorporates Orient Star's in-house silicon escape wheel and displays both the moon phase and remaining power reserve. Through the sapphire exhibition case back, the blue escape wheel, Geneva stripes inspired by star trails and crescent-shaped movement opening can all be admired.
 
The carefully proportioned 39.5 mm SUS316L stainless-steel case is paired with a black cordovan leather strap and deployant clasp. A dual-curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating protects the dial, completing a refined collector's watch that represents the highest level of Orient Star's M45 craftsmanship.
